The Wolf of Wall Street is a three hour long epic that seems like a mash-up of Goodfellas, Spring Breakers and of course, Wall Street. In other hands it might come off like an exceedingly long copy-cat undertaking of stuff that has come before. In the hands of Martin Scorsese, it is not so surprisingly great. The worst Scorsese movie is better then even the most skilled filmmakers best work, and this effort is well worth all the critical praise and Oscar nominations thrown its way. The Wolf of Wall Street screens the next two nights at the Mayfair (Monday April 14 and Tuesday April 15) at 8:45pm. It is not for the faint of heart. It will definitely offend those who think that Oscar nominations = Remains of the Day.
